Every volume of the List of Lights and Fog Signals offers the following:
- Descriptions of the features of lights and fog signals, along with equivalent light descriptions in foreign languages, to assist bridge crews with accurate identification.
- Includes various illuminated floating markers such as pontoon lights, durable and buoyant beacons, Single Point Mooring (SPM) units, and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facilities.
- Provides tables to aid in determining the geographical and luminous ranges of lights.
- Each listed light includes details such as its international number, name and/or location, geographical coordinates, characteristics and intensity, height above sea level (in metres), visible range (in sea miles), and a description of its structure.
- Issued across 15 regional volumes (A–Q) for clarity and convenient use.
